MetaTrader 4, a popular trading platform, can be downloaded to any device, including those running macOS. Initially, MT4 was developed for the Windows OS. However, later, it was successfully adapted to macOS and now works correctly on Apple devices under emulators. There are several free-distributed emulators for MT4, such as Wine, WineBottler, or PlayOnMac.
They operate differently depending on the gadget in use. Mind, that MT4 can operate smoothly under one emulator but stops functioning under another one. In such a case, you should download another emulator and try to work in MT4 under the new application.
When an emulator is installed on your device, you can download the MetaTrader 4 for Windows and launch it. The emerging pop-ups with a detailed description will accompany the installation process.
MetaTrader 4 for macOS is not much different from MT4 for Windows. You will benefit from most of the features available in the regular version of MT4, including:
- wide range of trading tools,
- live quotes,
- one-click trading option,
- multiple timeframes,
- customizable indicators, etc.
Note that when working with emulators, there can be problems with Expert Advisors. It is better to avoid the usage of custom indicators and trading robots on your MetaTrader 4 application for macOS-run devices.
The platform will better operate on your computer if you copy all the necessary files (advisors, indicators, trade robots, etc.) from your Mac to a corresponding directory of the MT4.
